I love the way this image shows the connection between mare and foal, it’s a tender moment.
As always there’s something so adorable about the long spindly legs of the foal, and the elegance of the arched necks, especially the delicacy of the foal’s neck.
Capturing that exact moment when the mare had lifted one foot adds interest and a sense of movement.
The black and white treatment adds to the impact by removing the distraction of other colours, such as the green grass of the pasture.
